While at work today I got the sudden urge to rush home. Why you may ask? Because I heard Mr. Oliver giggle in my head. He knows how to giggle. I (ME) know how to make him giggle and laugh. Its this noise that's so beautiful that I can barely even find the words to describe.
Here's how it happened. I came home from work and picked him up. He seemed to be in great spirits...I think his mood is getting better now that he's a bit older. Anyhow...I picked him up in my arms and put my mouth on his chin and made noises as I buzzed my lips on his chin. He thought it was so hilarious that he just started laughing. The baby giggling sound is the BEST noise in the world. I will record it soon and hopefully share it with everyone who reads this blog. So he started giggling and laughing, the more I did it, the more he laughed and giggled. It totally made my day and warmed every core of my being. It was also heart warming when he started to drool large amounts of saliva on my mouth and face. :-) Its gross, but its not, cause he's my kid.
For the last 2 nights he's been sitting on my lap patiently at night for long stretches at a time, something that wasn't possible earlier. He'd hold my fingers and then push my fingers into his mouth for some gumming time. He actually has enough awareness and mobility to hold something and bring it to his mouth. Its also really cute when he starts to drool and chew on my finger or thumb.
He's growing longer and longer. He doesn't seem as chubby as he did earlier, he's been eating 3.5 ounces for almost a month now and he doesn't seem to be wanting more. He eats almost regularly every 2 hours during the day and at night, he drinks about every 3 or so hours and takes about 2 bottles. My favorite time is in the mornings. He's sooooooooooo cute, awake and NOT cranky. He just stares up at me with his huge brown eyes. He laughs, giggles and offers up the biggest most beautiful smiles. *sigh* Its times like this that makes me happy to be his mama.
Since he's been drooling, we bought him a teething ring made by Leap Frog. We love Leap Frog. We bought him some other items by Leap Frog. It vibrates when you bite into the rings. So because he doesn't have that much ability yet, I just push the rings together and it makes the thing vibrate against his gums. He's so so about it.

On another note, I got a haircut today. Its sort of like a bob, and Mr. Oliver's Auntie A thinks its a lot better than before. I feel a lot freer with the new haircut.
On mama news, we are going through a 3rd round of job applicants to fill the opening at my office tomorrow. I'm already bothered by it all, however one candidate is from my college. We'll see if its one of the people who were nasty to me when I was going to school. I was a good college student, working hard and studying, they treated me like I was a crazy suck up. We'll see how karma works. Sorry I haven't been able to blog much, but like I said in an earlier blog, I would be an absentee mom around this time.
