Mr. Oliver's fall from grace and more...
Soooooo the last 3 weeks gave me a few extremely funny things to talk about.
One day, I was standing by Mr. Oliver in the x-pen when I felt him gnawing on my leg. Gnawing you may ask? Yes indeedy, this kid was using his 2 teeth to gnaw me on the leg. He grabbed hold of my leg and began to chew away. I moved my leg, and then it happened. Mr. Oliver fell, face first to the floor. As he started to holler, I held back my laughter and picked him up. Poor Mr. Oliver, his mama is soooooo mean.
Another day....I was sitting in the bathroom watching him enjoy his bath. Somehow he managed to sorta stand, but slip, and yes, face down, he went a fallin. As I tried to hold back my laughter, he started to holler. I quickly flipped him over and picked him up.
He's also started to be extremely picky about his food. He no longer likes brown rice porridge with roasted chicken. We have started to feed him baby yogurt in the am with fruit, then he gets lunch, some roasted puree'd veggie and some sort meat, then dinner rolls around and we give him parts of our dinner. If we don't feed him meat for lunch and dinner, he gets very cranky and screams until he gets some. What a punk. Crazy said that when he hits puberty, he will always be hungry. Crazy recalls always being hungry as a teen. Uncle K said the same thing. He said that we'd have to go grocery shopping at least every 2 days and told me to stock up, because the kid will eat us out of house and home. Oh gee, I can't wait.
On a sad note, Mr. Oliver is now remembering faces. He hasn't seen his Uncle P in over a month and a half, and when he saw him this visit, he got so shook up, he cried and cried and cried. He couldn't stop crying. LOUD. Very LOUD! It was weird. Hopefully he will move past this phase (soon).
I still haven't been able to cut his hair. Crazy is still not able to let go. So until he does...I can't touch his hair.
So the last 3 weeks of being home and dealing with Mr. Oliver on my own have taught me some very valuable lessons. I don't know how stay at home moms do it. It is so much work. So incredibly hard to stay home and put your needs on the sidelines and only focus on raising and growing a healthy child. Jeez, I'm so wimpy. I can't do it. I think that Mr. Oliver loves getting out of the house and interacting with other kids and the teachers at his school. Not that that's an excuse for my inability to stay at home, its just that he loves the attention and interaction he gets from the other children and teachers.
